Job Title: Branch Manager
Reporting to: General Manager
Responsible for: All Branch Staff
Location: Heathrow Area
Salary: Up to circa £34K + bonuses + company car
To maximise the contribution by the branch through profitable sales and control of overhead expenses, in line with business plans and overall company policy and strategy.
To meet and exceed customer expectations in terms of the efficiency of the service provided.
Responsible for: Effectively managing the branch budget to meet financial targets. Developing the business plan to actively increase sales opportunities for new, lapsed and existing customers.
Effectively increasing profitable sales opportunities through correct product mix and merchandising in-line with company policy. Analysing the trading report to establish current activity and communicating the outcome to the team. Communicating and negotiating with customers to secure the most profitable quotes and on-going business.
Processing new account application forms and setting up terms for customers. Cultivating positive internal and external customer relationships. Continually updating knowledge of competitors activities.
Leading by example and promoting the business effectively. Motivating the team to achieve the branch financial targets. Managing and organising the team to meet operational needs. Effectively recruiting, inducting and retaining new employees. Actively identifying own and branch employee training needs. Providing on the job training, guidance and coaching to all members of the team.
Identifying and developing branch staff for possible future promotion. Efficiently dealing with people management issues, as and when they arise.
Establishing relationships and communicating effectively with colleagues, customers and suppliers. Using initiative to identify and solve problems.
Making competent commercial decisions in-line with Senior Management. Ensuring good housekeeping within the branch and warehouse to provide a safe, professional environment.
Promoting responsible attitudes towards health & safety. Managing the branch administration to meet company standards and agreed deadlines. Ensuring active compliance with legislation and company policies within the branch. Working with stock replenishment to ensure that the stock is maintained to meet customer needs.
Controlling the branch stock, via deliveries and the timely return of faulty/damaged goods and ensuring up-to-date accurate stock records. Ensuring that branch assets are properly maintained and protected from possible damage and theft.
Reviewing reports and dealing with queries arising. Ensuring that the end of day procedures, including the banking are completed in a safe, accurate and timely manner. Willing to perform any other duties as may be deemed necessary or as may be required by the company.
The ideal candidate will have plumbing and heating merchant experience along with management experience.
Salary offered will be up to circa £34K + bonuses + company car.
