Vacancy – Warehouse / Stores Supervisor

Industry – Electrical and Lighting Distribution

Location – Croydon, Surrey

Working hours – Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm full time permanent

Salary – £23,000 to circa £28,000 per annum + potential bonuses

We are looking for a professional Warehouse / Stores person for a well established business in the Croydon, Surrey area, to oversee the warehouse operation with sole supervision – there will be no staff management in the role.

The business is part of a company with branches across the UK who pride themselves in delivering a first class Customer Service and are leaders in warehouse operations best practice. All staff play a vital role working together as a team to accurately provide products with an excellent timely service with profitability as a key target.

We are looking for a hard working, self-motivated and enthusiastic Warehouse / Stores person with experience in the electrical and lighting wholesale and distribution industry.

You will join a small but busy team of staff within the business.

Responsibilities will include:
• Managing stock in and out (to external clients) as well as in store transfers and stock control
• Picking and packing (inc counter-balance fork lift truck operation)
• Recycling inc. WEEE
• Completing the paperwork associated with a busy Warehouse
• Deliveries, inc use of systems, managing external suppliers and van delivery sheets
• Stocktaking, inc. paper processing and cut-off dates
• There may also be a necessity to handle calls to and from other branches
• Book goods in and out on the computer system
• Trade Counter (on occasion) as and when required
• Ad hoc duties as required

The ideal candidate will have electrical product knowledge gained in an electrical wholesale / distribution environment

Job Requirements:

Be physically fit and able to lift heavy loads on occasion

Counterbalance forklift driving experience ideally with a current valid licence

Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
A good understanding of the importance of accuracy

Be organised and able to keep the warehouse clean and tidy

A professional outlook and a desire to work as part of a successful business team
Additional training and certification will be provided as part of your career development.

All PPE will also be provided.
